The First Women's Drivers To Show In F2 Comeback Join The Charouz Racing System

JAKARTA - Do you remember the name benefiting Calderon? The first female rider in the Formula 2 (F2) event is back.

He will mark his comeback at the Grand Prix, Belgium, this weekend. He officially joined the Charouz Racing System until the end of the season.

Calderon will replace Cem Bolukbasi. The Turkish racer terminated the contract with a mutual agreement after failing to get a single point in 11 races.

The 29-year-old will have four series to prove himself back at F2. Starting from this weekend's Francorchamps Spa Circuit, he will also face races at Zandvoort (Netherlands), Monza (Italy) and Yas Island (UAE).

"I'm very happy about my return to Formula. I still can't believe I'm back," said Calderon.

"It's been a long time since I raced this car, but this is a great opportunity. I am very grateful for the Charouz Racing System and can't wait to race," he continued.

It's been three years since Calderon raced in F2. This Colombian rider first raced F2 with Alfa Romeo Racing in 2019.

Unfortunately, he finished the race without a single point. His best achievement is finishing 11th.
