Boxing Who Is The Strongest, Mike Tyson Or Deontray Wilder? This Is The Second Difference

JAKARTA - Boxing manager, Shelly Finkel, cannot compare the strength of Mike Tyson and Deontray Wilder's punches. According to him, both boxers have different styles.

Finkel does handle both. He helped Tyson's career after the heavyweight legend was disqualified for biting Evander Holyfield's ear in 1997. Meanwhile, he is still actively taking care of Wilder.

Finkel points out the difference between Tyson who has a 5-foot 10-inch posture, with Wilder who is 6 feet 7-inch.

He told SunSport, "For me Deontay is a big Tommy Hearns. And he has a certain spring for his punch."

Tyson, it was from his leg. He has a large thigh and it (the force of the blow) comes from there. And the speed."

"So, they were very different. When Tyson beat Spinks, it was very natural. And Spinks after the fight said, 'The thing I wrongly judged was how fast he was'," he continued.

Wilder, according to Finkel, is always able to turn things around. Like he did when he faced Luis Ortiz in 2019.

Meanwhile, Tyson, who is now 56 years old, needs a quick start. But it doesn't take time to break into the opponent's defense

"Deontay always equalizes. He can fall, but suddenly, out of nowhere, boom, it all ends," said Finkel.

"Mike is just a destroyer coming to you. And you can't keep it away from you, it's all over," he said again.

Finkel saw Tyson retire in 2005 following two mental crushing defeats. However, a decade later Wilder emerged as America's next heavyweight hope.

He defended his WBC title ten times before losing to Tyson Fury, 34 in 2020. He lost again against the same boxer in October. Wilder has not fought since.
