Mineral Land Near Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road Km 13 Burns

PALEMBANG - Mineral land around the Palembang-Indralaya toll road section km 13, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, is on fire.

Coordinator of Forest and Land Fire Prevention (Karhutla) Manggala Agni Daops Sumatra XIV Banyuasin Ujang Sultan said the fire occurred at around 18:57 WIB.

A team of Manggala Agni officers was deployed to extinguish the fire at the location which is part of the Talang Pangeran Ulu Village area, Pemulutan Barat District, Ogan Ilir.

Officers still have to work quickly to extinguish the fire so that the burned area does not expand, especially leading to the toll road.

"Yes, the blackout is still ongoing," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 25.

The firefighters carried out the fire by pouring water from the nearest barn, the tanks of several cars that were brought by the officers at this time.

"It is not possible to estimate how much land was burned," he added.

Head of the South Sumatra BPBD Emergency Division, Ansori, said that his party was still coordinating with officers at the command post who carried out the fire.
