KPK Asks For Additional Budget To DPR For ASN Employee Salaries

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requested an additional budget for salary adjustments for KPK employees who are now state civil servants (ASN). Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, said that his party was still adjusting the salary distribution based on the ASN system. Therefore, the KPK requested the support of Commission III of the DPR regarding the addition of the budget.

"Based on Law Number 19 of 2019, the KPK has carried out the transfer of duties from KPK employees to ASN. As a consequence, there is a different ranking system which then results in a different salary budget," said Gufron during a DPR Commission III meeting with the KPK, Menkumham, AGO and PPATK in Jakarta Parliament Building, Thursday, August 25.

Ghufron explained that the transfer of status for KPK employees automatically follows ranks in the ASN system. So, there is a difference in the salary given to KPK employees who are now ASN status.

"Of course, when there is a difference, we cannot use a low standard because it will harm the party with a high position. Then we will take the top one," he explained.

For this reason, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the DPR for support because it needs an additional budget to adjust the salaries of its employees to be uniform on the basis of the ASN system. However, Ghufron did not mention the total budget requested by the KPK. "That's what has resulted in personnel spending as a consequence we adjust to the ASN system based on the rank of certain groups. Well, at that point, then we need a budget to adjust the salary. Therefore, we ask for your support," said Ghufron.
