Jember Vocational High School Student Kicked Killed By His Friend, Police Examine 6 Witnesses
JEMBER - Jember Resort Police officers examined six witnesses related to the death of a student who was kicked by a friend during the change of class hours at the State Vocational High School (SMKN) 2 Jember, East Java.
"There are six witnesses who have been questioned by investigators and all of them are students who saw the incident," said Jember Police Chief AKBP Hery Purnomo, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 25.
A student of SMKN 2 Jember class X with the initials MR (16) kicked his friend with the initials RP (16) until he fell down on Tuesday (23/8).
The victim, assisted by his friends, was taken to the School Health Unit (UKS) and finally referred to the Regional Hospital Dr. Soebandi Jember, but the victim breathed his last at a local hospital.
"We have arrested the alleged perpetrator, but we have not yet named the suspect because the case will still be carried out first," he said.
AKBP Hery explained that his party will release the progress of the case after the case is held because investigators are still examining witnesses and collecting evidence.
"In the near future, we will release the latest developments regarding the case of a student kicking his friend to cause death," he said.
When asked if it had anything to do with the world of martial arts, Hery answered firmly that the issue was purely personal and had nothing to do with any martial arts college.
The case was handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Jember Police Satreskrim because the perpetrator who kicked the victim was still a minor.
According to information gathered in the field, the perpetrator kicked the victim to death, allegedly because of jealousy after her lover was teased by the victim.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere at SMKN 2 Jember after the incident was observed to be conducive. Teaching and learning activities (KBM) also run as usual because the school hopes that there will be no trauma among students.
