Ferdy Sambo Jalani Session Of The Police Code Of Ethics Commission Brigadier J Case, What Is The KKEP Session?

YOGYAKARTA - Former Head of the National Police's Professional and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) Inspector General Ferdy Sambo underwent a hearing at the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) on Thursday, August 25, 2022.

The KKEP trial was chaired by the Head of the National Police's Security Intelligence Agency (Kabaintelkam), Komjen Ahmad Dofiri.

Meanwhile, for members of the trial, among others, the General Supervision Inspector (Irwasum) Komjen Agung Budi Maryoto and the Head of the Propam Polri, Inspector General Syahardiantono.

Then, the Main Policy Analyst for Sabhara Baharkam Polri Inspector General Rudolf Alberth Rodja and the Governor of PTIK Inspector General Yazid Fanani.

Several witnesses were presented at the trial, namely the former National Police Propam Division Karopaminal, Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, former Karo Provos Divpropam Polri Brigadier General Bennu Ali, Kombes Susanto, Head of Gakkum Roprovost Divpropam Division, and former South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto.

The KKEP trial was held to sentence Ferdy Sambo for the crimes committed in connection with the murder of Brigadier Novriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J.

According to the Regulation of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Indonesia No. 7 of 2022 concerning the Police Professional Code of Ethics, the KKEP trial is a trial to examine and decide cases of violations of the Police Professional Code of Ethics (KEPP) committed by members of the National Police.

As for what is meant by the Police Professional Code of Ethics, according to the regulation, are norms or moral rules, both written and unwritten, which serve as guidelines for the attitude, behavior, and actions of police officers in carrying out their duties of authority, responsibility, and daily life.

Meanwhile, the Police Code of Ethics Commission is a commission formed within the Indonesian National Police for KEPP enforcement.

According to the National Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022, members who violate the KEPP will be questioned by high-ranking police officers.

Article 42 paragraph (3) states that the composition of the KKEP organization as referred to in paragraph (1) has the same rank or is higher than the rank of suspected violator.

In the case of the murder of Brigadier who ensnared Ferdy Sambo, the suspect was a high-ranking National Police officer with the rank of two-star general or Inspector General Pol. So that the person who became the head of the trial was a high-ranking National Police officer with the same rank or higher, namely Komjen.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission III at the Indonesian House of Representatives on Wednesday, August 24, said that the KKEP trial was to determine whether Ferdy Sambo was still worthy of being a member of the National Police.

Ferdy Sambo was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding the premeditated murder case under Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.

Apart from Ferdy Sambo, investigators also named four other suspects in the shooting case of Brigadier J, namely Putri Candrawathi (Ferdy Sambo's wife), Bharada Richard totaling, Bripka Ricky Rizal, and Strong Maruf.

The five suspects face the death penalty or imprisonment for a maximum of life or a maximum of 20 years.

The Police Code of Ethics Commission hearing was held in the KKEP courtroom of the TNCC Building on the first floor, Rowabprof, Propam Division, Police Headquarters.
