2 Days Before Comeback, TWICE's Jihyo Tests Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - TWICE's Jihyo was confirmed positive for COVID-19 today, Wednesday, August 24. This news was announced by JYP Entertainment as the agency that houses the artist.
"We apologize to inform you that TWICE member Jihyo tested positive for COVID-19 after an antigen test on August 24," the agency wrote today.
On the same day, Jihyo took the test and the result was positive. As a result, he is currently undergoing quarantine in order to recover his health.
"He is currently in quarantine with the applicable health authorities," the agency said in a statement.
This news was shared two days before the release of TWICE's 11th album BETWEEN 1&2 on Friday, August 26.
This album is TWICE's latest release after continuing the contract with JYP Entertainment.
The agency has not yet decided whether Jihyo will participate in TWICE's promotional series in the future.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic is not completely over. A number of K-pop artists have tested positive for COVID-19 in the midst of promotional activities.
