Social Minister Assists Infants With Liver Failure From Malang Who Are Treated At RSCM, For Operational Needs Risma Asks Kitabisa For Help

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini responded to the need for treatment for Almahyra, a nine-month-old baby from Malang, East Java, with liver failure, who is undergoing treatment at the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta.

Social Minister Risma met Almahyra, who currently lives at the Griya Sehat Bamuis Shelter Home, BNI Jakarta. Social Minister Risma provided various kinds of assistance, such as special milk, diapers, and vitamins to support her recovery.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that Almahyra's medical expenses were covered by BPJS Kesehatan, but did not include operational costs to support the treatment process.

"For example, special milk, because it's hard to find and can't be reimbursed through BPJS, so we ask Kitabisa for funding sources," said Risma as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 24.

The cost required for Almahyra's treatment also includes a round trip from Malang to Jakarta.

The operation, according to him, requires quite a lot of costs.

From fundraising through Kitabisa, Social Minister Risma handed over cash assistance worth Rp60,891,578. The response to the case was carried out by the Jakarta Handayani Center Team.

Social Minister Risma also said that she would help three other people who were undergoing treatment at the shelter.

Meanwhile, Almahyra's parents, Fadia, admitted that the Ministry of Social Affairs was helped by raising public funds for the treatment of their child.

"Very helpful, very light for me. Moreover, I am from the area to Jakarta, Jakarta is hard, yes, this need is very much, thank God it really helps, especially for milk," he said.

Fadia explained that the most expensive requirement for Almahyra is special milk, which for one can of 400 grams costs a minimum of IDR 350 thousand.

One can of special milk is only enough for 2-3 days by consuming it through a nasal tube so that it can enter. If you don't drink the milk, Almahyra is vulnerable to malnutrition, because her liver doesn't absorb calories from other milk.
