JAKARTA - The National Police has confirmed that the video circulating regarding the finding of piles of dollar bills worth Rp. 900 billion at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's house is just a lie or a hoax.

From the results of the investigation, the facts stated that the money was the result of finding counterfeit dollars in Atlanta, United States (US) in 2021.

"After being tracked by the team, it turns out that the video was broadcast by the Global Chemical Laboratory on July 18, 2021, regarding the finding of counterfeit money in Atlanta, USA," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to reporters, Wednesday, August 24.

Then, based on the facts, the special team investigators (timsus) did not find piles of money during the search process at several houses of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. So far, the evidence obtained is entirely related to the case of Brigadier J.

Moreover, during the search, the special team was accompanied by a lawyer, the head of the RT, the family and other investigators. So, there are witnesses who can be held accountable.

"Whatever is confiscated is for evidence later in court. Timsus conducts an investigation with pro-justitia steps," said Dedi.

Previously reported, a video circulating on social media showing piles of dollar bills with a nominal value of Rp900 billion. In the narrative that the money was distributed, it was said that it was found at the house of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

In the video footage uploaded to the Twitter account @Miss_warawiri, more than six suitcases containing dollar bills can be seen. The silver suitcase was in a fairly narrow room.
