SMKN Student In Jember Dies After Being Kicked By A Schoolmate, Police Are Still Investigating
JEMBER - Jember Resort Police officers investigated the death of a student after being kicked by a friend at a state vocational high school (SMKN) in Jember Regency, East Java.
"We have conducted an investigation of the crime scene (TKP) at the location of the incident, namely at the school. It is mandatory and the first thing to do," said Jember Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Dika Hadiyan Wiratama as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.
He said the victim was only given an external post-mortem at the Regional Hospital (RSD) Dr. Soebandi Jember, because the victim's family objected to an autopsy.
"The case was handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Jember Police because the perpetrators who kicked the victim were minors," he said.
The perpetrator, who had fled after kicking his friend to death while at the school, has been secured at the Jember Police PPA for questioning about the incident.
Meanwhile, the Head of SMKN Suprihartono said the two students, both the victim of RP (16) and the perpetrator of MR (16) were class X students at SMKN Jember.
"Based on the information of some of their friends, both of them spoke in front of the victim's class, then the victim apologized and shook hands. However, suddenly MR kicked the victim on the right side of the neck," he said.
After being kicked, the victim immediately fell to the floor and tried to get up, but suddenly fainted and seemed to have difficulty breathing, so his friends who were around the scene took the victim to the School Health Unit (UKS).
"After seeing that his condition was not good, finally the victim was taken to Dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital by using a school car. Not long after, the victim died at a local hospital," he said.
Regarding the case, he continued, the school gave it entirely to the police to handle the legal process and the perpetrator was still a minor.
