Lost Contact While Fishing In The Waters Of Kera-Semau Island, Kupang, Maklon Nafu Was Successfully Rescued By The SAR Team

KUPANG - A joint SAR team from the Class A Search and Rescue Office of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province managed to find Maklon Nafu (48) who was missing after being dragged by sea waves in the waters of Kera and Semau Islands in a safe condition.

"The SAR team has found the victim in a safe condition around Kera Island," said Head of the Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office, I Putu Sudayana when contacted in Kupang, Antara, Tuesday, August 23.

Maklon Nafu, a resident of Namosain Village, Kupang City, it was reported that his family lost contact when they went fishing in the waters of Kera Island and Semau Island, Kupang Regency.

The victim went to sea since 04.00 WITA but until 14.00 WITA the victim had not returned from fishing, so the family tried to search the sea but to no avail.

According to I Putu Sudayana, after the Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office received a report about an accident that endangered humans, they immediately mobilized a joint SAR team to conduct a search for the victim.

According to I Putu Sudayana, the SAR team managed to find the victim at 17.05 WITA at coordinates 10⁰7.352'S - 123⁰29.961'E, in a safe condition.

"After being found, the victim was immediately evacuated to Namosain to be handed over to the family, so the search operation was closed and the SAR team was returned to their respective units," said I Putu Sudayana.
