BMKG Issues Extreme Weather Early Warning In Sorong
SORONG - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Sorong Station issued an early warning of extreme weather in the Sorong Regency and surrounding areas in West Papua.
Launching ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23, moderate to heavy rainfall that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds at 20:15 WIT in Sorong Regency which includes Makbon, Beraur, Sayosa, Klabot, Klawak, Klayili, Klaso, Buk, Hobard, Botain, East Sayosa.
In addition, the areas of Salawati, Seget, Aimas, Klamono, Segun, Mayamuk, South Salawati, Maudus, Mariat, Moisegen, Sorong, Bagun, Wemak, Sunook, Saengkeduk, Malabotom, Konhir, Klasafet, and Central Salawati.
Then the area of South Sorong Regency which includes the areas of Teminabuan, Sawiat, Seremuk, Konda, Saifi, Moswaren, Wayer, Fokour, Salkma, and Kais Darat. Tambrauw Regency covers the Selemkai area, and its surroundings.
These weather conditions can extend to the Raja Ampat Regency which includes North Salawati, North Batanta, West Salawati, Central Salawati, South Batanta.
Next is Maybrat Regency which includes Aifat District, North Aifat, South Aifat, West Aitinyo, Aitinyo, North Aitinyo, Ayamaru, North Ayamaru, East Ayamaru, Mare, South East Aifat, South Ayamaru, Ayamaru Jaya, South Ayamaru Jaya, South East Ayamaru , North East Ayamaru, Central Ayamaru, West Ayamaru, Central Aitinyo, Greater Aitinyo, and South Mare.
It also extends to Sorong City which includes the districts of East Sorong, West Sorong, North Sorong, Sorong Manoi, Klaurung, Malaimsimsa, Maladum Mes, and its surroundings. This condition is expected to continue until 23.45 WIT
The potential for rain with a duration of time is long enough so that people are expected to remain vigilant. Avoid areas or dwellings under hills or slopes to avoid landslides.
