IVE Cancels Free Concert Due To High Debt Of The Han River
JAKARTA - K-pop group IVE is scheduled to hold a free concert in Seoul. This concert was made in conjunction with the release of their latest album, AFTER LIKE on Monday, August 22.
They will perform on a stage near the Han river on the same day. But the event was canceled after bad weather hit South Korea and made the water level in the river rise.
"The water level in the Han River has increased due to heavy rain and the water level is still very high," said Starship Entertainment as the agency.
"For the safety of all fans and some parts of the stage that cannot be worn, we find it difficult to continue performing in the midst of this situation," he continued.
IVE has just released an album with the main track titled AFTER LIKE. This song is the latest release after releasing the single Love Dive in April.
The song AFTER LIKE received a positive response because it showed a new side of IVE that was different from the releases of other K-pop groups. The song also uses a sampling of Gloria Glaynor's I Will Survive which was released in 1978.
Through his latest song, IVE managed to rank third on a number of South Korean music charts. They competed with NewJeans and BLACKPINK for new song releases.
IVE, which consists of Wonyoung, Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, LIZ, and LEESEO, became one of the girl groups that gained success in a short time.
