Bimbim Slank Wants His Daughter To Replace Anies Baswedan As Governor Of DKI Jakarta
JAKARTA - Bimo Setiawan Almachzumi alias Bimbim Slank wants his daughter Mezzaluna D'Azzuri to be the Governor of DKI Jakarta, which is now held by Anies Baswedan. He hopes that his daughter can carry on the political heritage of Bimbim's grandfather who had served as governor in DKI Jakarta, Soemarso Sosroatmodjo.
“His great-grandmother was the governor of Jakarta. Can the descendants come? He studied politics in the UK. Take a major in Anthropology and Politics. So that's all. If you are learning, let's jump in," said Bimbim, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, August 23.
Currently, Mezzaluna is studying political science at a campus in London, England. It is estimated that Mezzaluna will complete his studies in 2023.
Bimbim said that whatever his daughter's decision in the future, he will always provide support as long as it is Mezzaluna's passion and desire.
"If he likes (supported). I always go to children, friends, relatives, as long as we like and enjoy it, want to go wherever we go," said Bimbim.
"The important thing is to enjoy it. Because if we don't, we're stressed right?” he added.
On the other hand, Bimbim's cousin Akhadi Wira Satriaji or often called Kaka also applies the same thing to his children. He said, as a parent, he will always provide support to his child.
“Children will have their own way. We as parents are supportive. So backup behind," explained Kaka.
However, Bimbim admitted that he and Kaka did not expect that their children would also follow in their footsteps as musicians. However, the two members of Slank did not force their children to continue the legendary band from Indonesia.
"What we didn't expect was that our children were all going to music. Yes, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree," said Bimbim.
"I don't project to continue Slank. But if they want to be in the music world, it's your way,” said Kaka.
As legendary musicians, Kaka and Bimbim also admitted that they did not give special messages to their children who were also involved in the world of music. However, they set an example for their children to understand how an artist's life is.
"We don't talk much. Because we gave an example from a baby, we have already been given an example. Mezzaluna, we performed, she was in the backstage. My son too, I sing he is in the backstage. So no need to talk. Just given the entertainment life like this, the artist's life is like this," concluded Kaka.
