Following PDIP And Gerindra, Golkar Agrees To Reject Democrat's Proposal To Disable The National Police Chief In The Case Of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party rejects the proposal of a member of Commission III of the DPR Democrats, Benny K Harman, regarding the deactivation of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in the aftermath of the case of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Apart from Golkar, previously the PDI-P (PDIP) and Gerindra have also expressed their disapproval of dismissing the National Police Chief.

Member of Commission III of the DPR Golkar Faction Supriansa explained the reason for the deactivation of the National Police Chief as Benny K. He said that so far the National Police Chief has been very open with handling the case of the alleged premeditated murder of Brigadier J, masterminded by Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

"I don't agree with Benny Kabur Harman's proposal regarding the deactivation of the National Police Chief. In fact, I think the National Police Chief is very open in resolving this case," said Supriansa, Tuesday, August 23. Supriansa considered that Benny K Harman's proposal was far-fetched. According to him, Commission III of the DPR has never discussed the proposal. Not to mention, the decision to dismiss the National Police Chief is not a legislative but executive authority. "I think Beny K Harman's proposal is his personal proposal, not on behalf of the House of Representatives Commission III. Because we in Commission III of the DPR have never discussed specifically regarding the deactivation of the National Police Chief," he continued.

Supriansa also assessed that so far the National Police Chief has been very responsive in resolving the case. This fast movement was proven when Sigit formed a special team. In fact, he said, the National Police Chief himself announced the determination of Ferdy Sambo as a suspect. There are currently 5 suspects in the case.

"This is proof that the Chief of the National Police is not playing games and is not indiscriminate in handling this case. We should appreciate the firmness of the Chief of Police," said Supriansa.

Previously, member of the House of Representatives Commission III from the Democratic Faction Benny K Harman asked the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo to be temporarily dismissed.

This is because Benny thinks that the level of public trust in the Police has decreased because they often convey information that cannot be confirmed in the case of the murder of Brigadier J.

"We don't trust the police. The police gave our information to the public, our public was also deceived, right, we were lied to. Because we only read through Pak Mahfud's social media and the official statement from the headquarters we responded was wrong," said Benny at a hearing.
