DENPASAR - Two foreign nationals from Switzerland and Germany who live in Bali have changed citizenship to become Indonesian citizens. The oath of two Caucasians was held at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Bali.

The two Caucasians who took the oath to become Indonesian citizens are Marlon Gerber, who was previously a Swiss citizen and Michael Szarata, who was originally a German citizen.

"The Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights takes an oath that foreigners who have changed citizenship, namely Marlon Gerber and Michael Szarata have applied for a change of citizenship and have been approved by President Joko Widodo through a Decree (SK) to obtain Indonesian citizen status," said Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali, Anggiat Napitupulu in Denpasar, Monday. , August 22.

Anggiat advised two Caucasians in Bali who are now Indonesian citizens to carry out their rights and obligations as Indonesian citizens properly, to devote themselves fully to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

The two Caucasians in Bali were also asked to truly become Indonesian citizens through real work for the progress and prosperity of Indonesia.

"In accordance with Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, that the presidential decree regarding the granting of an application for citizenship is effective as of the date of taking the oath to renounce all loyalty to foreign powers, acknowledge, submit and be loyal to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia," said Anggiat.
