Former PBNU Chairman Said Aqil Considers The National Police Chief's Right Step To 'Clean Up' Bhayangkara Corps In The Aftermath Of Brigadier J's Case
JAKARTA - Former General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) KH Said Aqil Siradj supports the steps of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo who will 'clean up' the Bhayangkara Corps.
The statement was conveyed in relation to the determination of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo as a suspect and dozens of members of the National Police who were suspected of being unprofessional in handling the case of the murder of Brigadier J.
"We believe that many police officers are still good, carrying out their duties according to the needs of the nation. Therefore, we fully support the corrective measures within the Police," Said Aqil told reporters, Monday, August 22.
However, Said Aqil did not deny that Kapori's efforts to clean up the Bhayangkara Corps would be easy. Because, there are many people who will get in the way.
Especially, the people involved with the online gambling mafia and other mafias.
"We look at history, when Prophet Muhammad was an ordinary citizen and did good things, people liked him. He was even nicknamed Al Amin, who was trustworthy. But when he delivered da'wah and improvements, many people were hostile to him," he said.
Apart from that, Said Aqil said that the National Police Chief had tried to handle the case transparently. Moreover, after the order from President Joko Widodo to open the case openly.
"He has been before President Joko Widodo, and the President has been ordered to open it up, so that nothing is covered up. So that people can believe that the completion of this case is done properly. I have great respect for that, we fully support it," said Said Aqil.
For information, in the case of Brigadier J's murder, the National Police's special team named five suspects, namely Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Bharada Richard Eliezer, Bripka Ricky Rizal, and Strong Maruf and Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's wife, Putri Candrawathi.
They were charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) and Article 56 of the Criminal Code.
The National Police have also examined 83 personnel related to the case of Brigadier J's murder. There were 35 members who were recommended to be placed in the Special Forces.
As for the members who have been placed in patus totaling 16 people. Ten of them are in the Provos Polri and the rest are at Mako Brimbo Kelapa Dua, Depok.
There are five members who are strongly suspected of violating the crime in handling the case of Brigadier J.
They are the former Karopaminal of the National Police Propam Division Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, the former Kaden A of the Police's Propam Division, Kombes Agus Nurpatria, and the Deputy Chief of the Police's Propam Division B Bureaupaminal, AKBP Arif Rahman Arifin.
Then the former PS Head of Sub-section of Baggatika Roabprof of the Propam Division, Kompol Kompol Baiquni Wibowo, and former PS Head of Sub-section of Audit Baggatika, Roabprof of the Propam Division, Kompol Kompol Chuk Putranto.
