Russia Claims Success In Destroying US HIMARS Ammunition Depot And M777 Howitzer In Ukrainian Territory
JAKARTA - The Russian Armed Forces claimed to have succeeded in destroying Ukraine's weapons, which were given to them by Western allies led by the United States (US).
In Odessa, Russia claimed to have destroyed an ammunition depot used to store US HIMARS rocket-launching missiles using Kalibr cruise missiles, said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
"The high-precision sea-based long-range Kalibr missile destroyed the ammunition depot with missiles for the American HIMARS multi-launch rocket system and the Western-made anti-aircraft system," Konashenkov said.
Furthermore, Konashenkov said Russian troops also managed to destroy two M777 howitzer units in combat positions near Knyazevka in the Kherson region.
"Two American M777 howitzers were destroyed while in combat positions near the Knyazevka settlement in the Kherson Region," he said.
Konashenkov added, attacks by tactical aviation and army, missile and artillery troops on military facilities in Ukraine continue. Including the success of downing a Ukrainian drone.
"Russian air defense systems shot down nine Ukrainian drones in the residential areas of Staromlynovka and Gorlovka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). One missile fired from the Olkha multiple rocket launcher was also intercepted near Kamenka in the Kharkov Region," it said.
