Isolation Room For COVID-19 Patients In Garut Hospital, With 6 Beds Left
JAKARTA - The isolation room for positive COVID-19 patients at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Slamet Garut, West Java, is almost full. Only six of the 100 beds capacity remains.
Head of the Medical Services Division of the Dr Slamet Garut Hospital, Zaini Abdillah, confirmed this. So it is necessary to add more rooms to anticipate the arrival of new patients.
"The hospital is full, there are 94 patients (positive for COVID-19)," Zaini told reporters as reported by Antara, Thursday, November 19.
He said the Garut Regency Government had previously prepared 100 beds in a special room at the Garut Hospital, along with medical equipment to treat patients with COVID-19.
However, its capacity is almost full due to a surge in confirmed cases of COVID-19 from various regions and ages.
Garut Hospital anticipates a surge in COVID-19 patients by utilizing another building with a capacity of 100 beds.
"The capacity of isolation beds for COVID-19 patients in our hospital is targeted to be 100 beds," said Zaini.
In addition to converting the existing rooms at Garut Hospital, Garut Regency Government also uses 100 beds in flats, Cilawu District to anticipate a spike in positive cases of COVID-19.
The Garut COVID-19 Acceleration and Handling Task Force recorded an accumulation of 1,336 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, consisting of 520 cases undergoing isolation, 790 cases declared cured, and 25 cases died. *
