There Are Times When Sarri Doesn't Praise Ronaldo's Greatness

JAKARTA - Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri does not want to give credit to Cristiano Ronaldo who scored a goal against Roma. Why, why? "Praise his mother for creating such a specimen!" he stressed.

The Bianconeri progress to the Coppa Italia semifinals against Milan or Torino with a 3-1 win over the Wolves' Squad at Allianz Stadium on Thursday 23 January. The victory was determined by Cristiano Ronaldo (26 '), Rodrigo Bentancur (38'), and Leonardo Bonucci (45 '+ 2').

"We had a good first half, but didn't come out to attack at the start of the second," Sarri told Rai Sport, referring to Cengiz Under's attack which saw Gianluigi Buffon score an own goal in the 50th minute.

“After a few games, we came back against a team that had a good passing game. Gigi Buffon made several saves which confirmed that he is still in good shape and a top level goalkeeper, "continued Sarri.

The former Chelsea coach added that Ronaldo was in excellent physical and mental condition. He scores with such consistency that on an individual level, he hardly finds any weakness in the Portugal captain.

"I cannot praise Ronaldo's performance at the moment, you can only give credit to his mother for creating such a specimen!"

Meanwhile, this weekend Sarri will visit the Stadio San Paolo as an opponent for the first time since he left Napoli.

"It's not a normal experience," he admits. “It's something that really touched me. It was, on a human level, a wonderful bond. "
