COVID-19 Update As Of August 21: New Cases 3,949, Most DKI Jakarta Followed By West Java
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 64,249 specimens were examined with the results of 3,949 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,315,557 and active cases have gone up and down by 2,107 to 50,500 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Sunday, August 21.
Today's recovered cases increased by 6,044 cases, bringing the total to 6,107,680 recovered people. Then, there were 12 positive confirmed deaths and a total of 157,377 people.
The province with the highest new cases was DKI Jakarta with 1,897 cases and a total of 1,377,975 cases. Followed by West Java with 672 new cases with a total of 1,156,894 cases. East Java has 405 new cases and a total of 324,762 cases. Then, Central Java with 349 new cases and a total of 594,026 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,720 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an increase of 1,895 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 664 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 338 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 105,829,381.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.28 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 3,472 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
To date, 203,116,008 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,614,271 people have received the second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 59,145,320 and the fourth dose was 569. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia was 208,265,720 people.
