Here It Is, Five Reasons Manchester United Can Beat Liverpool

JAKARTA - Manchester United will face a tough match against Liverpool next week. Here are five reasons the hosts can win in that match.

Manchester United and Liverpool will meet for the first time in the English Premier League for the 2022/2023 season at Old Trafford Stadium on Tuesday, August 23 at 02.00 WIB.

Both teams started the season together started this season with satisfactory results. Liverpool were satisfied with draws against Fulham and Crystal Palace, while Manchester United lost against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

Liverpool, expected to be title contenders this season, are already four points behind reigning champions Manchester City. The distance could widen if City win over Newcastle tonight.

However, Liverpool are still considered more established in the title race this season than the Red Devils. They beat their rivals a total of 9-0 in two meetings last season.

However, their journey this season has not been smooth. For that, here are five reasons Manchester United can win over their guests on Tuesday morning:

1). MU without hope and pressure

MU will go into this match without any hope and without any pressure after getting two bad results at the start of this season. However, it can be an advantage for them.

The reason is, by the time the match started, Manchester City were probably already seven points ahead of Liverpool. If so, the Reds will have the pressure to win in order to keep their title-hunting chances.

That burden can actually be disastrous for Jurgen Klopp's team. Meanwhile, it is certain that MU has definitely played without a burden because of its dark horse status.

2). The absence of Darwin Nunez

The Uruguay international is certain to be absent due to a red card in the previous match. According to Klopp, Roberto Firmino is fit and ready to play.

However, the Brazilian is no longer at the peak of his strength and neither is he the type of forward who can keep running behind the slow Harry Maguire.

Having struggled to turn their chances against Fulham and Palace, it will not be easy for Liverpool to improve on those performances in the absence of their striker.

3) MU will Rely on Counter Attack

Against Liverpool, United is predicted not to dominate possession. They will defend as well as possible to counterattack the opponent.

It's just that so far the counter-attack of Erik Ten Hag's team is still far from good. However, their fast players in attack will be very troublesome for Liverpool.

4). MU's Response to Bad Results

Losing the opening three games at the start of the Premier League season is almost unthinkable for a club as big as Manchester United.

If that happens, the anger of their fans will peak. Thus, their motivation is to win over Liverpool as well as make a turning point in their journey.

5) Liverpool Injury Problem

Apart from Nunez, who is sidelined through suspension, Liverpool will also be without several stars in the match against Manchester United due to injury.

The Reds have a long list of injuries including Thiago Alcantara, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Curtis Jones, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Caoimhin Kelleher and Calvin Ramsey.
