Luis Milla May Make His First Debut To Lead Persib Bandung Against Bali United
JAKARTA - Luis Milla may make his debut as coach of Persib Bandung in the match against Bali United on Tuesday, August 23.
The former coach of the Indonesian national team has now arrived in the country.
Maung Bandung confirmed this in a post on their social media on Sunday morning.
"A marker for Luis Milla has arrived in Indonesia," said Persib's post which showed a photo of Luis Milla with Persib President Director Glenn Sugita.
However, Persib has yet to provide certainty regarding the debut of the 56-year-old coach when they played the sixth week of the Indonesian League 1 at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium.
However, in the last post on his personal Twitter account, Luis Milla admitted that he couldn't wait to get to work. For that, the chance of his debut against Bali is clearly open.
"I'm very happy to be a part of this family. Can't wait to meet all of you and start working," wrote the coach, who has handled the Indonesian National Team in 2017-2018.
Milla was appointed as the new coach after Persib kicked out the previous coach, Robert Alberts.
The Dutch tactician was unable to maintain his position after swallowing two defeats and a draw in the first three matches of the Indonesian League 1 this season.
Persib has won two consecutive victories since Robert left and was led by interim coach Budiman Yunus. The two victories were obtained from PSS Sleman and PSIS Semarang, respectively.
