Not Only Chancellor, OTT KPK At Unila Also Arrest Deans To Lecturers

JAKARTA - The world of education in Indonesia has been badly tarnished. The KPK's silent operation at Unila did not only target the chancellor. But the deans and lecturers were also transported.

This time the OTT KPK managed to arrest eight people scattered in various places. There are in Bandung and Bali. And of course in Lampung.

"It consists of the Chancellor, Deputy Chancellor 1, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, lecturers and the private sector," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, Saturday, August 20.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that this arrest was related to allegations of bribery in accepting prospective new students at the University of Lampung.

The KPK also managed to secure evidence of a sum of money in rupiah denominations. Including a number of financial records that are still being studied by the KPK.

Previously, Ali Fikri had said that the arrests of the Chancellor and his colleagues at Unila were related to allegations of bribery in accepting new students from the independent pathway.

This super-silent operation was carried out by the KPK in various places, starting from Bandung and Lampung this morning. Those arrested, including the head of the state university in Lampung, have been taken to the KPK's Red and White House to undergo investigation.
