Angkasa Pura II Successfully Serves 41,468 Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has successfully supported the implementation of the Hajj in 1443H/2022M by serving return flights for a total of 41,468 pilgrims and officers who are members of 106 groups at five airports managed.

"AP II is grateful for the support from the Ministry of Religion, airlines, ground handling, TNI/Polri and all other stakeholders so that the 2022 hajj flights can run smoothly and successfully at five AP II airports," said AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin in a statement in Jakarta. , quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 20.

Awaluddin said that AP II airports serving returning pilgrims include: Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, which served the most returning pilgrims and officers, reaching 29,051 pilgrims and officers from 73 groups.

Aceh's Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport serves the return of 2,018 pilgrims and officers from 6 groups.

Furthermore, Kualanamu Deli Serdang Airport served the return of 3,795 pilgrims and officers from 10 groups. Minangkabau Padang Airport serves the return of 2,884 pilgrims and officers from 8 groups.

Meanwhile, Palembang Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport serves the return of 3,720 pilgrims and officers from 9 groups.

He said, thanks to the strong collaboration of all stakeholders in preparing operational plans including the flow of arrivals starting from the arrival of the plane until the pilgrims finished processing arrivals at the terminal, the 2022 Hajj flight implementation could run successfully and smoothly.

Furthermore, Awaluddin said that after serving the 2022 hajj flights, AP II was again preparing to support Umrah flights at Kertajati Airport, West Java.

This is in line with the Ministry of Transportation's plan to prepare Kertajati Airport to serve Umrah embarkation and debarkation flights in November 2022.

With the implementation of zoning for Umrah flights from Kertajati Airport by the Ministry of Religion, it is projected that the potential for Umrah pilgrims will reach 40,000 people in the January-May 2023 period.

AP II as the operator of Kertajati Airport together with other stakeholders including Customs, Immigration and Quarantine will collaborate to ensure that Umrah flights run smoothly.

"All security and service facilities at Kertajati Airport are confirmed to be ready to serve Umrah flights starting November 2022," he said.

The Kertajati Airport is also equipped with air side facilities that are able to serve wide body aircraft to support Umrah flight operations.

Awaluddin said the opening of Kertajati Airport could not only make it easier for Umrah pilgrims but also greatly support the operations of Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

"Umrah pilgrims from West Java or Central Java can fly directly from Kertajati Airport, no need to go to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. This really supports the Multi-airport System concept implemented by AP II to ensure flights are well distributed at the two airports," he said. .
