JCI Thursday Morning Opens Up To 6,244.12

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened trading on Thursday, January 23, reopened to rebound, after the previous trading ended weakening. JCI rose 10 points or 0.17 percent to 6,244.12.

In early trading this morning, there were 112 stocks rising, 71 stocks weakening, and 120 stocks stagnating. Trade transactions reached IDR 203.2 billion out of 228.2 million shares traded.

The LQ45 index rose 2.74 points or 0.3 percent to 1,023.58, the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) index rose 0.79 points or 0.1 percent to 683.90, the IDX30 index rose 1.50 points or 0.3 percent to 559.59, and the MNC36 index rose 0.84 points or 0.2 percent to 354.84.

Reliance Sekuritas Indonesia analyst Lanjar Nafi said investors will wait for monetary policy. "Although with almost certainty, interest rates have not changed," he said in his written research.

Two days ago, the BI Board of Governors is holding monthly meetings to determine monetary policy, including the matter of reference interest rates. Since last October, the BI 7-Day (Reverse) Repo Rate has stood at 5 percent.

"Technically, we estimate JCI will move back to consolidation today, but trying to close in the green zone with support resistance in the range 6,218 to 6,282," said Lanjar.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gusta Utama, predicts that today's JCI will strengthen. "There is a potential for a rebound in the JCI movement so that it has the opportunity to go to the resistance area," he said.

The resistance area that Nafan refers to is between 6,274 and 6,304. While the first and second support areas are in the range 6,218 to 6,190.

As for a number of share recommendations that can be considered by investors, including PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI), PT Adhi Karya Tbk (ADHI), PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk (ERAA), PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL), PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP), and PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk (LSIP).

In this morning's trade, stocks that are moving in the ranks of top gainers, among others, shares of PT Diamond Food Indonesia Tbk (DMND) rose Rp. 275 or 20.07 percent to Rp1,645, shares of PT Limas Indonesia Makmur Tbk (LMAS) increased by Rp. 12 or 10.62 percent to IDR125, and shares of PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Syariah Tbk (BTPS) rose IDR 250 or 5.38 percent to IDR 4,900.

Meanwhile, stocks moving in the ranks of the top losers, namely shares of PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO) fell IDR40 or 2.83 percent to IDR1,325, shares of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) fell IDR60 or 2.42 percent to IDR2,420, and shares of PT Elnusa Tbk (ELSA) fell IDR6 or 2.05 percent to IDR286.
