KPK Opens Opportunity To Drag Other Parties In The Surya Darmadi Bribery Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has the opportunity to ensnare another party in the bribery case of the owner of PT Duta Palma Group, Surya Darmadi. This opportunity is open if later evidence is found and there is a confession to the investigator.
"Later, based on the SD statement, what is his statement. Did he mention witnesses or what other people were involved in," said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata to reporters at the KPK ACLC Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 18.
Alexander said later investigators would examine Surya Darmadi. This investigation will be examined at the Attorney General's Office.
"(Technically, red) to the Prosecutor's Office. Kan is detained at the Prosecutor's Office," he said.
He believes that the examination will be easy because the KPK has coordinated with the Attorney General's Office.
"No problem. We coordinate," said Alexander.
Previously reported, the Attorney General's Office named Surya Darmadi as a suspect in the alleged corruption in the seizure of 37,095 hectares of land in Riau. He was named along with another suspect, Raja Thamsir Rahman who is a former regent of Indragiri Hulu.
After the determination of the suspect, Surya was summoned by the Attorney General's Office three times. However, he was absent because he was abroad before finally turning himself in.
Meanwhile at the KPK, Surya Darmadi has been named a suspect since 2019. This determination was made after investigators developed a case against former Riau Governor Annas Maamun.
