Launching Of 7 Banknotes, Sri Mulyani; Rupiah Should Be The Pride Of All Of Us
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the launch of the seven denominations of the 2022 Issue Year Paper Rupiah (TE 2022) is a form of pride for the Indonesian people.
"It is proper that the rupiah as a legal tender must be respected and proud of by all of us. Together with the rupiah, we will rise to be stronger towards an advanced Indonesia," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani at the launch of the 2022 TE Money in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, August 18.
Sri Mulyani said that the rupiah was not only interpreted as a currency, but also described the journey of the nation and the unity of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).
The history of the Indonesian currency itself began in 1946, namely the first currency issued by the government was Oerang Republik Indonesia (ORI) with an emission date of 17 October 1945 and then ORI was first circulated on 30 October 1946.
"At that time, it was conveyed by Vice President Mohammad Hatta and this marked a new chapter for Indonesia, which had just become independent," said Sri Mulyani.
According to her, in every rupiah sheet there is a story and narrative about the Indonesian nation that contains a motive and spirit for diversity as well as unity.
"This is a symbol and at the same time a commitment for all of us. Together with the rupiah, we will rise to become stronger towards an advanced Indonesia," she said.
