630 Underprivileged Families In Papua And West Papua Enjoy Free PLN Electricity Connection
JAKARTA - PLN provides free electricity connection fees to 630 underprivileged families in the provinces of Papua and West Papua.
This is part of the Light Up The Dream Program.
"The free electricity connection assistance came from donations from PLN employees for the Papua and West Papua Main Units to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia," said General Manager of PLN Main Units for Papua and West Papua Regions, Moch. Andy Adchaminoerdin quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 18.
According to Andy, his party is grateful to be able to help underprivileged people who so far have not been able to enjoy electricity.
"With this program, we set aside some of our sustenance so that we can help the surrounding community in Papua so they can have access to electricity," he said.
He explained that apart from Jayapura, this program was simultaneously carried out in 7 other PLN Customer Service Implementation Units (UP3) in Papua and West Papua.
Out of a total of 630 underprivileged families who received the assistance, the PLN UP3 Nabire area became the largest recipient of assistance with a total of 300 families.
"We appreciate the noble efforts so that in the future this program will not end here but can continue to be sustainable," he said.
He added that the simultaneous electricity connection program for the underprivileged was carried out simultaneously to commemorate the 77th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
"We hope that this assistance can be used wisely and as well as possible because of course the presence of electricity can facilitate and help daily activities," he said.
