MRT Phase 2A Enters Monas Station Entrance Work
JAKARTA - The MRT Jakarta Project Phase 2A Package CP 201 which connects the HI-Monas Roundabout Station has begun to prepare for construction work at the entrance to Monas Station on Jalan Museum and Jalan Merdeka Barat.
PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Corporate Secretary Division Head, Rendi Alhial explained, the first entrance to the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A CP201 Station to be built is Entrance-1 Monas MRT Station on Jalan Museum and Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.
The construction of this entrance area uses the "box jacking" method, which is a construction method for making underground tunnels through the process of pushing the precast "box" segment by segment into the ground with a "hydraulic jack".
"From August 18 to September 7 2022, there will be a narrowing of the Museum Road lane," Rendi said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 17.
As one of the preparatory stages for the Monas Station Entrance-1 construction work, a "test pit" will be carried out at 5 points. One of them is on Museum Street.
This test aims to identify and confirm the exact position of several underground utility networks that intersect with Entrance-1 construction work such as PLN power cables, fiber optics and PAM water pipes.
During the "test pit" work of the utility network, there will be a narrowing of the path at some points on Jalan Museum. Namely, the narrowing of the Museum Street route from August 18 to September 7 2022.
Then, in the period from September 8 to September 30, 2022, a "test pit" was conducted on Jalan Museum and inside the building area of the Ministry of Communication and Information, resulting in a narrowing of Jalan Museum lane.
From September 26 to October 29, 2022, the "test pit" was at the median of Jalan Merdeka Barat, but had no impact on traffic along Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.
PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) together with the Shimizu-Adhi Karya Joint Venture (SAJV) as the implementing contractor always ensures that the comfort and safety of road users is maintained during the construction process by installing traffic signs.
