Infrastructure Development Is Still A Priority, Minister Basuki Asks PUPR Personnel To Be Resistant

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo delivered five major agendas for 2023 in his State of the Union Address before the MPR, DPR and DPR RI, Tuesday, August 16. One of them is the acceleration of infrastructure development.

Jokowi's statement is a message that infrastructure remains a priority. This was agreed by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono in his remarks as Inspector of the 77th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Sapta Taruna Field, Ministry of PUPR, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

"In implementing the five major agendas, Indonesia's infrastructure development remains a priority. And the budget allocation of Rp. 125.2 trillion is entrusted to the Ministry of PUPR," he said, quoted by Antara from a press release received in Jakarta.

For this reason, Minister Basuki asked PUPR personnel to be resilient. He invited all PUPR personnel to become fighters in the infrastructure sector.

"PUPR personnel must be strong, strong, integrity, brave and artistic fighters. Because of our role as fighters in infrastructure development in Indonesia," he said.

The PUPR Ministry's future goal is not only to focus on building physical infrastructure, but also to create job opportunities and provide as much income as possible. The hope is that it can support people's purchasing power to increase Indonesia's economic activities.

Basuki also said that in commemorating the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, PUPR people should be grateful.

"We must absorb and interpret this warning according to their respective roles and professionalism," he said.
