Celebration Of The Republic Of Indonesia's Independence Day At The Palace Guarded By 4,200 TNI And Polri Soldiers

JAKARTA - A total of 4,200 joint military and police personnel were deployed to secure the Commemoration Ceremony of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday 17 August.

"The combined personnel of the TNI and Polri are spread over 4,200 people. They are divided into ring 1, ring 2, ring 3 around the Merdeka Palace and Monas areas. We help ensure the smooth running of the event and the security of the Commemoration Ceremony of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence and the Commemoration of the Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. 77 RI," said Central Jakarta Police Chief Kombes Komarudin in front of the Merdeka Palace, quoted from Antara.

According to Komarudin, the situation around the Merdeka Palace was observed to be quite crowded because there were around 4,000 invited guests or the public who were expected to attend to witness the ceremony of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence.

"Invitations were spread around 4,000 people. In the morning 4,000 people and in the evening 4,000 people can enter the palace," he said.

Meanwhile, added Komarudin, for people who do not have an invitation, they can watch the Seconds Ceremony of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence around Taman Pandang, on Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jakarta.

Regarding the enthusiasm of the people, according to Komarudin, the moment of commemorating the 77th Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day this time is an extraordinary moment for the community and they feel enthusiastic.

He said that after several years of not being able to attend in person at the Merdeka Palace to witness the Commemoration Ceremony of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence, in 2022, the public was enthusiastic to attend.

"Anticipating this, there are several roads that we apologize, we have to divert for the smooth running of the series of activities that have been prepared," said Komarudin.
