Rain Colors Indonesia's Independence Day Commemoration In Several Cities
JAKARTA - When Indonesia commemorates the 77th anniversary of independence, some of its big cities will be rained.
Forecasts from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the weather on Sumatra Island in general has the potential for rain with light to moderate intensity.
Be aware of the potential for moderate-intensity rain which is expected to occur in the Medan and Palembang areas, then light-intensity rain in Jambi, Bengkulu, Tanjungpinang, and Bandarlampung. Banda Aceh and Padang are expected to be sunny, Pekanbaru is foggy and Pangkalpinang is cloudy.
Turning to Java, in general the weather conditions are expected to be cloudy. There is the potential for light rain that is expected to occur in the Yogyakarta area. Meanwhile, clear cloudy skies are forecast for Surabaya.
People on the island of Kalimantan are advised to be aware of the potential for moderate-intensity rain which is expected to occur in the Tanjung Selor area and light-intensity rain in the Pontianak and Samarinda areas. Meanwhile, for the Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin areas, cloudy weather is forecast
Weather conditions in Bali and Nusa Tenggara are generally cloudy. Among them are Denpasar and Mataram.
Large cities on the island of Sulawesi have the potential for light rain to occur in Manado, Gorontalo, and Mamuju. Meanwhile, the areas of Palu, Makassar and Kendari are predicted to be cloudy.
In general, eastern Indonesia is estimated to have the potential for light rain.
The BMKG detected a cyclonic circulation that was observed in northern North Maluku, which formed a confluence area and a slowing wind speed or convergence that extended over North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.
Other areas of convergence were observed extending from Aceh to the Malacca Strait in Riau from Bangka Belitung to the Riau Islands, from Bengkulu to West Sumatra, from West Java to Banten, in West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, and in central Sulawesi.
This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation and along the convergence area.
