Receives 1 Kg Cannabis Package, Surfing Coach In Bali Allegedly Medan Syndicate Network Arrested By BNN
BADUNG - Officers from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Badung Regency, Bali, arrested a surf coach with the initials SPS (31) who received a package of marijuana of more than 1 kg.
The alleged perpetrator of the Medan-Bali network syndicate was arrested on Sunday (31/7). The arrest was made when the perpetrator received the package in front of an empty kiosk, precisely on the edge of Jalan Bingin Sari, Jimbaran Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.
"The evidence that was secured was a package wrapped in red plastic with brown duct tape, containing used clothes in which there was a package containing dried plants, a type of marijuana weighing 1,552.15 grams gross or 1,478 grams net," said Head of BNNP Bali Brigadier General Gde Sugianyar. Initially, the Badung BNNK officers received information on the delivery of marijuana-type narcotics packages from the North Sumatra BNNP and the Kualanamu Airport Customs office, Deli Serdang.
The officer then conducted an investigation into the recipient of the package and carried out delivery supervision. The perpetrator was arrested.
From the results of the perpetrator's statement, so far he has been distributing marijuana to foreign tourists and also local residents.
"The person concerned is from the Medan network. The indications are that they have been around for a long time and besides their own consumption, they are also for foreign and local tourists and local residents," he said.
The perpetrator was charged with Article 111, Paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
