KPK Twitter Posts About President Jokowi's Traditional Dress, Warganet: How's Harun Masiku?
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Twitter account, @KPK_RI, has been in the spotlight and has made netizens insinuate about the search for fugitive Harun Masiku.
The moment occurred after the account uploaded a photo of the traditional clothes used by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) while attending the annual session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD today, Tuesday, August 16.
"The traditional clothes worn by President @jokowi today are modified clothes from the province of Bangka Belitung," wrote the Twitter account @KPK_RI, Tuesday, August 16.
In addition, the KPK Twitter account also created a thread containing President Jokowi's speech. In that thread, the KPK wrote that the challenges faced by Indonesia were very severe due to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The challenges we face are very heavy. All countries, around the world, are facing tests. The health crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic has not fully recovered. The world economy has not fully recovered," said the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
In that thread, the KPK also quoted Jokowi's speech which said eradicating corruption would continue to be the government's top priority.
"KPK, Polri, and the Prosecutor's Office continue to move. The massive corruption in Jiwasraya, Asabri, and Garuda has been successfully dismantled and a complete overhaul has begun."
As for every article on the thread, the KPK's Twitter also put the hashtag #PidatoPresiden2022 #pulihcepatcepat.
This KPK thread then became the attention of netizens. Many of them insinuated about the search for Harun Masiku, who is still a fugitive to this day.
Harun, who is the briber of former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, is still unknown. He fled after the KPK was about to arrest him in 2019.
One of the netizens who commented was @kidemangk*mpor, "Now we know the current function of the KPK as public relations or presidential spokesman. By the way, how is Harun Masku doing. Have you followed up on some of the corruption reports that have been submitted?"
@hant*ketaw* also responded to the KPK's tweet. "How come the KPK that released the State Secretariat?"
The KPK ensures that all of its fugitives will be arrested to account for their actions. This was conveyed by the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto.
"It is indeed a burden for us that there are several DPOs. We said, if we talk about the search, we can't say it clearly. But what is clear is that we also have teams that are already prepared," said Karyoto.
He didn't want to say much about the search. However, Karyoto ensured that the search would continue.
Moreover, there are already teams that are continuing to make preparations to catch their fugitives. "It means we are not standing still. But we will not say we are looking for where, where, where it is not. The important thing is that we are trying," he stressed.
"Yes, hopefully in the not too distant future there will be results, yes, because the search for DPOs is better off keeping quiet," Karyoto continued.
The KPK has homework (PR) to arrest the escaped corruption suspects. They are Harun Masiku who is a former legislative candidate (candidate) in the 2019 Pileg who bribed the former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan; Izil Azhar has been on the run since 2018; and Kirana Kotama who has been on the run since 2017.
Recently, there was also the Regent of Central Mamberamo, Ricky Ham Pagawak, who fled to Papua New Guinea when he was about to be forcibly picked up by the KPK. He is a suspect in connection with the alleged bribery of the project.
Meanwhile, Surya Darmadi, who is the owner of PT Duta Palma Group, has now been detained by the Attorney General's Office. He turned himself in on Monday, August 15.
