Yasonna Laoly Dies When Asked About Harun Masiku
JAKARTA - The Directorate General (Ditjen) of Immigration has admitted that KPK suspect Harun Masiku has been in Indonesia since January 7, or the day before the hand-arrest operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK against the suspect Wahyu Setiawan.
According to the statement of the Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Ronny F Sompie, there was a problem with the equipment at Soekarno-Hatta Airport so that it was not previously known about Harun's arrival.
Ronny's statement agrees with what Harun Masiku's wife, Hildawati Jamrin, told a number of mass media. The statement also confirmed the CCTV surveillance camera footage at Soekarno Hatta Airport released by Tempo Magazine.
As is known, the recording contains a man suspected of being Harun Masiku crossing the hallway of Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, January 7, 2020 at 17:15 WIB.
What Ronny said was also contrary to his superiors, namely the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly. Yasonna, who is also the Chairperson of the DPP for Law and Legislation for the PDIP has always insisted that Harun be abroad. On January 16, Yasonna also said that Harun Masiku was abroad and had not returned to Indonesia.
After the press conference regarding the Tanjung Priok polemic, Yasonna was bombarded with questions about the location of the suspect in the inter-time replacement process (PAW) bribery case member of the DPR RI from PDIP Harun Masiku. However, Yasonna was reluctant to respond.
"Sir, about Harun Masiku, sir ?," asked the reporter to Yasonna, at the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22.
Yasonna seemed not bothered by the questions addressed to him. He continued to walk towards the exit of the room. However, Yasonna was again confronted by questions from the media crew.
"Sir, regarding Harun Masiku, there are differences in statements," said one journalist.
"That's the Director General, the Director General of Immigration," Yasonna replied.
As is known, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has included a suspect in a bribery case related to the appointment of an elected member of the DPR-RI for 2019-2024, Harun Masiku, on the Wanted List (DPO). However, it is unclear since when Harun was appointed as a DPO.
The KPK named Harun and three other people as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the appointment of elected DPR-RI members in 2019-2024. The other three suspects are former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and private sector Saeful.
Determination of the suspect was the result of the development of a fishing operation carried out by an anti-graft agency. However, the KPK prosecution team did not succeed in arresting Harun.
Harun Masiku is suspected of bribing Wahyu to make his move to become a legislative member to replace another cadre from the PDIP, Nazarudin Kiemas, who died. Meanwhile, he did not meet the requirements for that as the applicable provisions.
