COVID-19 Update As Of 18 November: New 4,265 Cases Of 37,897 Specimens Examined
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 37,897 specimens were examined with the results that there were 4,265 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 478,720 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, November 18.
Today's cases increased by 3,711, so that a total of 402,347 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 110 people and a total of 15,503 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,148 new cases and a total of 121,818 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by Central Java, which has 495 new cases with a total of 45,296 cases. East Java has 480 new cases and a total of 57,237 cases. Then, West Java has 365 new cases and a total of 46,062 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 852 recovered cases. Followed by Riau with an additional 777 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 380 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 357 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Lampung and the Riau Islands.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 5,171,841. In detail, as many as 5,079,724 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 93,117 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 64,430 people. Currently, 505 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
