Bandung Police Investigate Cases Of Student Abuse By Ponpes Leaders

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police are investigating an obscene case allegedly committed by the leadership of a boarding school (ponpes) against students in Bandung Regency, West Java.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Kusworo Wibowo said so far his party had recorded that there were two people who were victims of the abuse. It is suspected that this sexual act has been going on since 2015.

"We have two victims, with the other names being witnesses, but not witnesses who saw the incident, but witnesses who heard stories from victims," said Kusworo in Bandung Regency, West Java. August 16.

There is also a case of molestation that is known to have occurred in an Islamic boarding school located in Gandasari Village, Bandung Regency, West Java. From the statement of the attorney, there were dozens of victims as a result of the sexual abuse.

Kusworo ensured that his party was also proactive in coming to the victims in order to find a light on the obscenity case.

"We are following up, and exploring this case is getting attention, so we can investigate it thoroughly," he said.

According to him, the head of the Islamic boarding school, who is the alleged perpetrator, no longer lives in the boarding school. According to him, the existence of the leader of the Islamic Boarding School has moved around.

"But when these two pieces of evidence are sufficient, then we will determine the suspect, and call the person concerned," he said.
