Captain Bhayangkara FC Called Competition This Season Is No Longer Ideal If It Is Forced

JAKARTA - Captain Bhayangkara FC Indra Kahfi suggested that the Indonesian League 1 competition start with a new season rather than continuing the 2020 season which has run for three matches.

"It is better to consider preparing for a new league or competition, rather than continuing this year's league," Indra was quoted as saying on the club's official website monitored by Antara, Wednesday.

The 2020 League 1 season competition had to be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic and did not obtain an operating permit from the police. PSSI and PT LIB plan to hold a league follow-up in early February 2021.

Indra assessed that because the competition has only been running for three matches, it would be better if PSSI and PT LIB focus on the new season, especially when the league will continue next year.

He considered, this season's competition is no longer ideal if it is forced. Not to mention that next year Indonesia will be busy with soccer parties, the U-20 World Cup.

If this is realized, he promises to improve his team's performance in the 2020 competition as if it is difficult to get all three points. Even though Bhayangkara FC is known as a star-studded team and is the favorite to win.

Bhayangkara FC is scattered in 11th position after collecting only three points from the three matches that have been undertaken. All their matches ended in a draw.

"If the new season starts, my personal target is to help Bhayangkara improve its ranking compared to last season," he said.

Asked about his activities during the pause competition period, he spent more time managing the coffee shop business he has started since March 2020. He also did not forget to report his independent home training activities to the coaches.

"During the holidays, the activities are gym, bicycle, swimming and fun football," he said.
