Prabowo's Men Defend Alfamart Employees Against Chocolate Thiefs In Mercy Cars: Legally Act Shameful Behavior Of Perpetrators Who Are Precisely High-Hearted
JAKARTA - The case of a woman named Mariana who was caught stealing chocolate products by Alfamart employees has angered many parties. The reason is Mariana threatened the ITE Law for employees of the retail company because the shoplifting action went viral.
The spokesman for Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, was one of the people who was furious at the response of the alleged shoplifter at Alfamart.
He asserted that he supported Alfamart employees in defending themselves from chocolate thieves who 'resisted' by bringing the lawyer.
"I support Alfamart employees who work responsibly against thieves," wrote Dahnil on his Twitter account, @Dahnilanzar, Monday, August 15.
Dahnil continued that this case must be processed into the criminal realm so that Mariana's actions become an example for the community to behave and how to treat minimarket employees who work with trust cannot be treated arbitrarily.
"And support the police to take legal action against the shameful behavior of the perpetrators, who actually proudly led the apology of a trusted Alfamart employee," said Dahnil.
Previously, a viral video of an Alfamart employee apologizing to the thief of chocolate products in the storefront of the minimarket he was guarding. The employee apologized under the threat of the ITE Law, even the shoplifter named Mariana brought a lawyer.
The incident started when an Alfamart employee approached Mariana who was sitting in the driver's seat of a Mercy car after leaving the minimarket.
Mariana was caught carrying chocolate products without paying from Alfamart Sampora branch, Sampora Village, Cisauk District, South Tangerang.
"Well, I took [removing the chocolate from behind his body]," said Mariana, admitting her theft.
The chocolate bars were then returned to Alfamart employees who caught them. A moment later the woman wanted to close the car door and was prevented by Alfamart employees.
"I don't want to, pay first," said the employee.
The woman then got out of the car to the cashier of the minimarket. "How do you get the chocolate, I see ma'am," said the Alfamart employee.
Not long after, another viral video circulated showing Alfamart employees apologizing flanked by Mariana and her lawyer.
The Alfamart then confirmed that its employees were threatened by Mariana who was proven to have stolen under the ITE Law.
Alfamart regrets the unilateral action taken by Mariana to bring in a lawyer so that Alfamart employees become depressed.
"Alfamart is conducting further internal investigations, and if necessary, will take further legal steps," said a written statement from Alfamart.
