Member Of Commission VII DPR Urges Pertamina To Be Transparent Regarding Pertalite Stock Availability

JAKARTA - In the last few days, people have complained about the availability of Pertalite type of fuel oil (BBM), which often runs out at public fuel filling stations (SPBU).

For this reason, member of Commission VII DPR RI, Nurhasan Zaidi, asked Pertamina to transparently explain the discrepancy between the stock and the facts regarding the availability of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) of the Pertalite type.

In fact, he said, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting, said that Pertalite stock was available for the next 15 days and would continue to be produced.

"In terms of the volume of supply of Pertalite, from the quota of 23.05 million liters of Pertalite in 2022, until July this year, 16.8 million kiloliters have been used. This means that there is still a remaining 6.25 million liters available," he said in a statement. to the media, Monday 15 August.

In terms of availability, he continued, judging from the consumption trend of Pertalite, he assessed that the remaining quota would not be sufficient until the end of the year.

"Therefore, I urge the government and Pertamina to be swift in taking action and immediately take strategic steps to meet the community's need for Pertalite," said Nurhasan.

Nurhasan suggested that the option to increase Pertalite quota be opened. According to him, the availability of sufficient Pertalite will help the community to rise again economically.

"People's purchasing power has not recovered as a result of the pandemic, so it is no longer difficult to get Pertalite. This Pertalite belongs to the Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP). Thus, it is the full responsibility of the Government to ensure its availability. The Government and Pertamina are required to make a backup plan ( contingency plan) to face various future scenarios," he concluded.
