BMKG: West Java, DKI Jakarta To Central Java Potentially Rain With Strong Winds Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is likely to occur in a number of provinces today, Monday 15 August.
According to the BMKG forecast, heavy rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds has the potential to occur in parts of the provinces of Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten and West Java.
Areas that are also likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds include Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papua
In addition, rain followed by strong winds also has the potential to occur in parts of the DKI Jakarta Province, Yogyakarta Special Region, and Bali.
Parts of the Provinces of West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Sulawesi have the opportunity to face strong winds.
BMKG also issued a warning regarding the possibility of waves as high as four to six meters in the western waters of the Mentawai Islands, the West Indian Ocean, the Mentawai Islands to Lampung.
Likewise in the western and southern parts of the Sunda Strait, the southern waters of Banten, the southern Indian Ocean of Banten, the southern waters of East Java, and the South Indian Ocean of Central Java to West Nusa Tenggara.
