JAKARTA - Welcoming the 77th Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the 2022 Run & Ride for Independence Day (RFID) which combines running and cycling took place today (Sunday, August 14). The implementation of RFID 2022 is a form of celebration of the recovery of the health and sports spirit of the Indonesian nation after COVID-19.

The first RFID event was held in 2019 with a running number. For RFID 2022, this time it was held at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, attended directly by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, who opened the start.

Taking into account the improving conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, entering the fourth year the RFID event will be held offline again by implementing strict and disciplined health protocols.

Patricia Meilyn, Chair of the RFID 2022 Organizing Committee and founder of M3KOM Group revealed that two years of the Covid-19 pandemic changed everyone's life, including sports activities.

“By exercising your immune system can increase so you don't get sick easily and prevent stress. As is known, stress can lower the immune system. By exercising the cardiovascular system increases, blood pressure decreases, and maintains weight. In addition, it is also useful for maintaining the respiratory tract and lungs to prevent various respiratory diseases," said Meilyn based on information received, in Jakarta.

The offline implementation of RFID 2022 is divided into two numbers, namely running and cycling. RFID 2022 carries a unique distance according to the 77th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia. For the running number, it covers a distance of 7.7 K while the bicycle covers a distance of 7.7 K.

“We are proud and happy that M3Kom Group presents this annual RFID running event for Indonesian running and bicycle lovers. An annual event that we hold to celebrate Indonesia's independence. We hope that all participants can reach the finish line smoothly, healthy and happy, also with new energy to welcome Indonesia's independence day," said Meilyn.

With the support of sponsors and partners, this year the organizers limit the target of participants to 1,000 people in order to maintain the comfort of participants in the GBK area.

For running numbers, participants are divided into two categories, namely Public, namely participants aged 45 years or less and Master, namely participants aged more than 45 years.

"We as the organizers hope that RFID 2022, which is held to coincide with the month of Indonesian Independence, can awaken the spirit of mutual cooperation which is still relevant today. Especially the spirit of mutual cooperation to restore the health of the Indonesian nation and through the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Meilyn.

Specifically for the running number, the organizing committee provided a total prize of Rp. 18.5 million for the three winners in each of the Public and Master categories. RFID 2022 is also enlivened by special celebrations of Indonesian Independence such as the 17s Competition, 17th Gymnastics and other interesting entertainment.
