Ahead Of The 2024 Election, The Deputy Minister Of Religion Reminds His Men: Don't Because Of Different Political Choices, Husbands And Wives Fight
SIDOARJO - Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid warned the ranks of ASN within the Ministry of Religion to maintain unity ahead of the 2024 General Election.
To his subordinates, Zainut reminded that if a family has different political choices, harmony must be maintained.
"I emphasize, ahead of the political year, don't let it be because of different views, different political choices, husband and wife fighting, neighbors not arguing, brothers not getting along," said Zainut, Sunday, August 14.
Moreover, said Zainut, the ASN of the Ministry of Religion is a religious instructor who must maintain harmony and peace among religious believers and between community groups.
“Why is this important? Because we live in a pluralistic society. Different customs, language, ethnicity, religion and different political choices. In this pluralistic society, we must provide a moderate understanding, both moderate in politics and religion," said Zainut.
On that occasion, Zainut explained that the Ministry of Religion has priority programs, one of which is religious moderation.
He explained that moderation is not meant to moderate religion because religion actually has moderate values. What needs to be moderated, he continued, is the behavior and the way people practice their religion so that they are not extreme, in the sense that they are neither radical nor liberal.
“Even though we come from different religions, groups, or groups, our community life remains harmonious, full of tolerance and mutual respect. This attitude of tolerance must be maintained so that we are not easily divided and pitted against each other," explained Zainut.
"This is important I emphasize when we are facing a political year full of dynamics. We must not assume that only our group is the most right, while other groups are wrong," he continued.
Furthermore, he explained, from the past until now Muslims have had many differences, both differences in their schools, organizations, and even political choices. These differences are permissible as long as they do not touch on the main issues or religious teachings.
"Some wear qunut, some don't, some keep beards, some don't, some wear short pants, some don't, furuiyah differences are allowed," he added.
