Set Deadline Until 23.59 WIB Today, KPU Makes Sure It Will Not Extend The Registration Period Of Political Parties Contesting In The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Idham Kholik emphasized that there was no extension of the registration period for political parties (parpol) as candidates for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
"We have emphasized in several of our explanations to the public. We convey to take advantage of the available time to complete the documents because the registration period has not been extended and we will give the opportunity today until 23.59 WIB," Idham told reporters at the KPU RI Building, quoted by Antara, Sunday August 14th.
He said the KPU would collect the registration documents early Monday, August 15. If by 23.59 WIB the party documents uploaded to the Political Party Information System (Sipol) are incomplete, then the party registration process cannot be continued.
Parties whose documents are incomplete by 23.59 WIB will be declared as parties that do not register to become candidates for the 2024 General Election.
"For those who bring complete documents before 23.59 WIB, we will check it. If it is confirmed that it is complete, then we will issue a registration receipt even though it is past 23.59 WIB," he added.
As of Saturday, August 13, the KPU noted that there were 10 political parties whose registration requirements were incomplete. Of the 10 parties, two of them have completed their visit to the KPU RI Building in Jakarta, Sunday, at 08.00 and 10.00 WIB.
"Both parties have returned to the KPU; and after we checked the documents at Sipol, it was 100 percent. Currently, the files are still being examined. The parties are the Republic of Indonesia and Parsindo parties," he said.
Meanwhile, there is one more party that informed that it would come to complete the dossier, namely the Pelita Party.
"We are still waiting for the results. So, out of the 10, three came back to the KPU; but the two we have checked at the Sipol are 100 percent and we are currently checking again," he said.
Seven other political parties that have not completed the registration requirements for candidates for the 2024 General Election as of Sunday afternoon are the Reform Party, the Smart, the Indonesian People's Democracy Party, the People's Sovereignty Party, the Berkarya Party, the United Indonesia Rising Party, and the Congress Party.
Meanwhile, there are 10 parties that will register with the KPU on the last day, Sunday, namely the United Nation Party, the Republican Work Party, the Pandu Bangsa Party, the Bhinneka Indonesia Party, the Masyumi Party, the Perkasa Party (Village Awakening Movement Party), the National Peace Love Party. , Republican Party One, the Sovereignty Party, and the People's Party.
