Fake Prosecutors Arrested After Receiving Rp50 Million In Cikini, Some Are Arrested At The AGO's Mosque
JAKARTA - Three individuals who claimed to be prosecutors were arrested by the Organizational Resources Security Team (Tim PAM SDO) or Task Force 53 together with the Central Jakarta District Attorney's team. All three are suspected of extortion.
"Successful in securing three individuals who claimed to be prosecutors and carried out extortion, namely WI, RAP, FIP," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana in a written statement, Saturday, August 13.
This arrest began with team monitoring since last August 11. This team previously received reports from victims who experienced violence.
The three fake prosecutors asked for Rp1 billion, the information of which was received by the joint team. "However, at that time the victim only agreed to Rp. 50 million and the money would be taken by Target Operation (TO) near Cikini Station," said Ketut.
From the information, continued Ketut, the team carried out monitoring around Cikini Station. It was then that the three fake prosecutors were caught receiving money from the victim.
"When it is seen that TO has received money from the victim, the team immediately takes security against TO," he said.
After being arrested, they were taken to the Central Jakarta District Attorney's Office for questioning. "From this action, it is known that the two individuals who were arrested with the initials WI and RAP as well as evidence in the form of money amounting to Rp. 50 million, softgun weapons, cell phones, and debit cards," explained Ketut.
In addition, the joint team also arrested the FIP who ordered the withdrawal of the money. This 24-year-old boy from Cirebon was at the Attorney General's Mosque when he was arrested.
"After knowing the existence of FIP, the team immediately took security and was immediately taken to the Central Jakarta Metro Police for processing with two other individuals, WI and RAP," said Ketut.
"The Central Jakarta District Attorney will continue to coordinate with the Central Jakarta Metro Police to monitor the handling of cases," he concluded.
