Hendrawan Supratikno Calls Puan Maharani A Strong Presidential Candidate Because Of These 3 Things

JAKARTA - Senior PDI-P politician Hendrawan Supratikno said Puan Maharani was a very strong 2024 presidential candidate. The strength of the proclaimer's grandson can be captured from the leadership qualities that Puan has shown so far.

Hendrawan personally has his own impression about the figure of the Chairman of the DPR RI when he had a commission, namely Commission VI DPR RI in 2009-2014 and together with the DPP PDI-P for one period, plus currently Puan Maharani is the Chair of the DPR RI.

"I think he is the strongest candidate for president because of his leadership. I have intensive experience together in Commission VI, we were both in the PDI-P DPP, we also monitored when he was Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture and is currently the Chairman of the DPR RI," said Hendrawan in a discussion. Hendrawan explained the three important leadership qualities that Puan Maharani has shown so far, namely the ability to listen to other people's input (ability to listen), solution oriented, and technocratic abilities.

"So this is a complete quality because if it is like a film, he can be a director, a scriptwriter as well as an actor," said Hendrawan.

According to Hendrawan, Puan Maharani, as a person who is willing to listen to other people's input, should not be taken lightly because not everyone in a high position listens to other people's input. Moreover, the average person in a high position tends to only want to be heard.

"In the past, he always asked what do you think? If you take this decision, what will the impact be? So we want to listen to people and there we know the quality of democratic leadership that Mbak Puan has shown. That impressed me," he said.

Another thing he demonstrated was solution-oriented leadership. This is important because Puan is well aware that politics is an artistic profession to turn virtue into wisdom.

"From him, I learned how we in politics must have the aspiration to make virtue a policy, in the end that politics serves the people. This is important.
