KPK Searches For News That Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung Met Members Of The DPR Before Being Caught In OTT
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate information about a meeting between Pemalang Regent Mukti Agung and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives before the arrest operation (OTT) was caught on Thursday, August 11.
"Regarding whether it is true that MAW met brother M (member of the DPR, ed) we will investigate later," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, August 12.
This deepening, he continued, must be carried out because the KPK ensures that it will work in accordance with the principle of carrying out its main tasks.
"Among them are for the public interest, legal certainty, justice, proportionality, transparency, including respect for human rights," said Firli.
In addition, Firli also said that there was no evidence regarding the meeting. So, they do not want to act rashly.
"We have not seen, the evidence is not there. So we will convey further developments," he said.
Mukti was named a suspect along with five other people. They are the Commissioner of PD Aneka Usaha Adi Jumal Wibowo; Acting Secretary of Pemalang Regency Slamet Masduki; Head of BPBD Sugiyanto; Head of Kominfo Pemalang District Yanuarius Nitbani; and the Head of Public Works of Pemalang Regency, Mohammad Saleh.
The six suspects were caught by OTT when they left the DPR RI Building on Thursday, August 11. It is suspected that there was a meeting between Mukti and her entourage with someone.
In this case, Mukti is suspected of setting a tariff of between Rp. 60 million and Rp. 350 million for bidders for positions in Pemalang Regency. The payment was made through Adi and the amount reached Rp4 billion.
In addition, Mukti is also suspected of receiving money from the private sector. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the total receipts reached Rp. 2.1 billion.
