The 212 Reunion Was Postponed, But FPI And Friends Made A National Dialogue To Invite 100 Leaders And Scholars On December 2
JAKARTA - FPI, GNPF Ulama, and PA 212 postponed the implementation of Reunion 212 on 2 December. Even though the 212 Reunion has been postponed, they will still hold a national dialogue event.
The Chairperson of the FPI, Ahmad Sobri Lubis, stated that this activity was carried out physically, but applied health protocols. This event will present 100 figures and scholars.
"On December 2, 2020, we will hold a national dialogue event to continue implementing the COVID-19 protocol, by presenting 100 figures and scholars who will be attended by IB HRS (Rizieq Shihab) as resource persons," said Sobri in a written statement, Tuesday, November 17. .
Sobri also appealed to 212 followers throughout Indonesia to hold joint prayers at mosques, prayer rooms, Islamic boarding schools and majlis taklim in the hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon.
"On December 2, we appeal to mujahid and mujahidah throughout Indonesia to hold istighosah so that the COVID-19 outbreak is removed from Indonesia, by complying with health protocols," said Shobri.
For information, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided not to allow FPI, GNPF Ulama, and PA 212 to hold a 212 Reunion in the National Monument (Monas) area.
Sobri said, because he was not allowed to hold the 212 Reunion at Monas, his party decided to postpone the activity. With a note, pay attention to the implementation of the 2020 Pilkada.
"In connection with our request not being granted the use of Monas, the implementation of the 212 Reunion 2020 has been temporarily postponed by observing the 2020 simultaneous regional elections," said Sobri.
According to him, the reason Monas was not allowed to be the venue for this mass gathering was due to the uncontrolled condition of the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this reason, Sobri said that his party would observe the implementation of the 2020 Pilkada because there was a potential for violation of similar health protocols.
If the crowd in the pilkada campaign is left alone, Sobri won't lose. They will still hold the 212 Reunion. However, the location has not been confirmed.
"If the government has neglected the crowd in the 2020 Pilkada, then the 212 Reunion in 2020 will still be held at the right time," said Sobri.
