The National Police's Denial Of The Accusation Of Electrocution By Lutfi As The Flag Bearer At The Demonstration

JAKARTA - Dede Alfiandi alias Lutfi Alfiandi, a young man whose photo went viral for carrying a flag in the middle of an STM student demonstration, admitted that he was electrocuted by investigators to admit to throwing stones at the police during the action. The admission was presented before a judge during a trial, Monday, January 20.

The police asked that this case be reported so that the truth could be investigated. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said, with the reporting, it could be proven the truth of the stun action.

"There is such a thing as our supervisory board, Propam. Report it if necessary. We will conduct an investigation later," said Yusri in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22.

He added that investigators are always professional and put forward the facts. Thus, it is impossible to impose a criminal element in a case if it does not happen, including Lutfi's throwing stones at the police.

Yusri will wait for the results of the panel of judges' decision to determine the elements of the crimes committed by Lutfi, according to what is written on his case file.

"Go ahead, he wants to convey it like that, go ahead. The trial is still ongoing. We are waiting until the decision will be made. Later there will be a mechanism," said Yusri.

Separately, West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Audie S. Latuheru emphasized that Lutfi's statement was not true. Because from all the rioters who were arrested, only Lutfi said that they were electrocuted by the investigators. The Lufti case was handled by the West Jakarta Metro Police.

In fact, other rioters were stationed in the same location as Lutfi when the filing took place. So, if the electrocution occurred, there should be many witnesses who saw the investigator's actions.

"At that time, what was secured by many people, if he was only electrocuted, it was not possible. For example, if an electrification incident occurred, if it happened, it would have been seen by many people," said Audie.

As information, Dede Alfiandi alias Lutfi is one of the participants in the demonstration against the ratification of a number of controversial Bills in front of the DPR building, Monday, September 30 2018.
